Mario Kart Competition Format & Rules

1. General Information
- Date: 5th and 6th October 2024
- Time: Throughout the day
- Venue: Masjid Al Aashiqeen
- Game: Mario Kart [Mario Kart 8 Deluxe]
- Platform: Nintendo Wii
2. Categories
- Junior Division: Ages 10-14
- Senior Division: Ages 15 and above
3. Registration
- Fee: R20
- Deadline: Before Race
- Process: Registration to be completed Online or In-person] before the race
- Eligibility: Participants must have a basic understanding of the game.
4. Competition Format
- Mode: Multiplayer – 2-player races
- Tracks: Preselected set of tracks, with a mix of easy, medium, and hard difficulty levels as the winners progress up the ranks
- Items: All items enabled.
Rounds:
- First Round: All players race in 3 rounds; scores are based on their finishing positions in each race.
- 1st place: 15 points
- 2nd place: 12 points
- 3rd place: 10 points
- 4th place: 8 points
- Knockout Rounds: Players with the lowest total scores will be eliminated after each round until only 10 finalists remain.
- Two groups of 5 players play for the top 2 Spots in Group 1 and Group 2
- Top 4 goes into the Semi-finals - 1st place in Group 1 plays 2nd Place in Group 2
- Winners go into the Final Round
- Final Round: Finalists will race on a predetermined set of 2 tracks, with the highest overall scorer declared the winner.
5. Rules
- Game Settings:
- Speed: [e.g., 150cc or 100cc for a beginner-friendly race]
- No CPU (only human players)
- Race mode: Grand Prix or Time Trial (for tie-breakers)
- Fair Play: No cheating, exploiting glitches, or unsportsmanlike behavior.
- Controllers: Players may use standard or customized controllers, as long as they meet tournament rules.
6. Scoring
- Players accumulate points across multiple rounds based on their race finishes.
- In case of a tie, a single tie-breaker race will be held on a randomly selected track.
